Occupation: Retired Staff Representative, WI Council 40 AFSCME, AFL-CIO. Volunteer tutor and Board member for the Racine Literacy Council.

Relevant Experience: Served as an advocate for workers including healthcare negotiations. Familiar with regulatory compliance.

With 36 years of advocacy for private and public sector labor unions, John is well versed on the challenges of health insurance. John was integrally involved in the establishment of the Kenosha City and County Health Care Partnership – a government partnership between two autonomous governmental jurisdictions. In his experience as Chief Spokesperson for labor, countless hours have been spent negotiating plan documents, reviewing various plan designs including self-funded programs, summary plan descriptions and wellness programs. John has further served as labor’s representative on an oversight committee which monitored all phases of health benefits for all Walworth County employees in a collaborative atmosphere. Under the Affordable Care Act, John became a CGHC member and has a keen interest in the cooperative’s success.
