PEOPLE. NOT PROFIT.
Putting Members First. Pursuing Better Healthcare.
Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative was founded when a group of like-minded community leaders answered the call to create a different kind of health insurance company that would be more responsive to the needs of individuals and small employers.
They decided to create Common Ground Healthcare as a cooperative under Wisconsin law to ensure that the policyholders would always have control over the company, and that decisions would always be made in the best interests of the membership as a whole.
The focus of our mission is to make quality health insurance as fair and affordable as possible for Wisconsin families, self-employed individuals, tradesmen, nonprofits, small businesses and others that don’t have access to insurance through their employer. In other words, we are focused on helping those that for many years have been paying the top dollar for their health insurance and health care, to the detriment of Wisconsin’s economy and our health.
Thankfully, we have found support among our provider partners in our endeavor to change things for the better, including Aurora Health Care, Bellin Health System, ThedaCare, Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin System, and Door County Medical Center. By working together, we believe we can advocate for a better health care delivery and payment system that helps people understand their choices and what is best for them to stay healthy.
Today, CGHC is the health plan of choice for thousands of small businesses, nonprofits, individuals and families throughout eastern Wisconsin. As we look to the future, we will continue to listen to our members and provide coordinated care and personalized service at an affordable price.
