Exciting News about CGHC’s Future!

The Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC) Board of Directors has approved the execution of a letter of intent with CareSource, a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) charitable organization, to explore an affiliation that would expand and improve services to CGHC members and network partners.

CGHC was created to offer a non-profit health insurance option to individuals and families and small businesses in Eastern Wisconsin. CGHC wants to continue its good work and finding a partner to help strengthen the non-profit organization has been a priority for CGHC for several years.

CGHC has finally found the right partner in CareSource because both organizations share the same members-first philosophy. CareSource was founded in Dayton, Ohio in 1989 as one of first health plans in the country to make member-centered, whole-person healthcare available regardless of income. CareSource has grown steadily since its founding and today uses state-of- the-art operations to serve over 2.3 million members in eight states.

Over the years, CareSource has made it their priority to reduce or eliminate health insurance pain points, undertaking projects to streamline claims and prior authorization processes and find effective ways to help members navigate healthcare and health coverage. CareSource provides personalized support to members in the areas of nutrition, exercise, preventive health, emotional health, parenting, weight management, and more, so people can remain healthy and secure based on their specific health goals and social needs.

CGHC is excited to continue to offer members affordable premiums and continue to provide local service in Wisconsin, and we are excited about offering our members more services through our partnership with CareSource. The affiliation must obtain all necessary regulatory approvals later this year. Members will have an opportunity to learn more about the affiliation by attending a special meeting to be held after the Annual Member Meeting on April 23rd. Watch your email/mail for more information about the meeting. If you should have questions in the meantime, please email us at CGHCExecutives@commongroundhealthcare.org.
